Albert Markovski (Jason Schwartzman) has been experiencing an alarming series of coincidences, the meaning of which escape him. With the help of two Existential Detectives, Bernard and Vivian Jaffe (Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin), Albert examines his life; his relationships; and his conflict with Brad Stand (Jude Law) - an executive climbing the corporate ladder at Huckabees, a popular chain of retail superstores. The real mess starts when Brad also hires the detectives. The Jaffes dig deep into his seemingly perfect life and relationship with his girlfriend Dawn Campbell (Naomi Watts) - who just happens to be the voice of Huckabees. Tired of sitting around waiting for results, Albert decides to crack the case on his own, albeit with some help from rebel firefighter Tommy Corn (Mark Wahlberg) and French radical Caterine Vauban (Isabelle Huppert) - the Jaffe's nemesis. Will he be able to find the answer to life's biggest questions?
