A Short Film About Killing

synopsis

Expanded from an episode in Kieslowski's 10-part "Dekalog" TV series (from the Ten Commandments), A Short Film About Killing is a powerful rebuke to a world that fights violence through ritualized capital punishment, but still dramatizes, sensationalizes and perpetuates it. The film's powerful comment on state-sanctioned murder arguable influenced the decision to abolish the death penalty in Poland.
