Laurel Canyon is a clever, humorous drama with knockout performances by a superb cast. Academy Award® Winner Frances McDormand delivers another perfectly etched performance as an LA record producer dealing with her conservative son (Christian Bale) and his girlfriend (Kate Beckinsale) who struggle to adjust to Mum’s wild ways when they move back to the west coast and into her home. Set in the LA ‘artists’ colony’ of Laurel Canyon, this drama-comedy about the changing values of two generations is as raunchy as it is wrenchingly truthful.
