For many years Roy Baker's 1958 re-enactment of the greatest sea drama of the 20th Century - the sinking of RMS Titanic on April 14, 1912 has been considered the definitive movie version. Based on the book by Walter Lord, A NIGHT TO REMEMBER is told through the eyes of crew member, Second Officer Herbert Lightoller (Kenneth More) and details the events that befell the "unsinkable" Titanic during her maiden voyage from Southhampton to New York. A voyage that led to the world's largest ship colliding with a giant iceberg and sliding to her final watery North Atlantic resting place in just two hours and twenty minutes. 1,502 passengers and crew were lost, only 705 survived.
