After three years in China, Pierre Lamontagne, has returned to Quebec. He meets up with Marc, his adopted brother. Feeling lost and adrift, Marc has begun to question his identity and is searching for his roots. The brothers embark on a quest to find Marc's unknown father, a quest that will lead them to the locations of Hitchcock's 'I Confess' in the Quebec of the 1950s. Past and present converge in a complex web of clues, wherein the answer to the mystery lies. This original and inventive film takes great delight in Hitchcockian connection, making several witty visual references to Hitchcock's work. This visually stunning psychological thriller is the engrossing debut film from the acclaimed theatre director Robert Lepage.
