A dark comedy symbolic of the 90s, Love and Human Remains is a disturbing exploration of the desperate search for relationships in an age of uncertainty. This is the first feature film in the english language by internationally acclaimed director Denys Arcand (Invasion of the Barbarians, Jesus of Montreal), and focuses on two friends - David, a cynical, witty actor turned waiter, and Candy, an optimistic, romantic book reviewer - and their search for the meaning of love in their confusing contemporary world. This search leads both of them into a number of hilarious and heartbreaking relationships which become dangerous when they discover someone they both know is a serial killer. Ultimately, this revalation not only tests David's and Candy's belief in the existence of love in any form, but also forces both of them to examine and evaluate everything they've ever held to be true. Love and Human Remains uses contemporary images to scrutinise the funny, senseless and often horrific world we all inhabit.
