Pal Joey

synopsis

Frank Sinatra hits all the right notes with two of Hollywood's most voluptuous beauties in Pal Joey, a scintillating musical comedy featuring many of Sinatra's most popular tunes. When brash entertainer Joey Evans (Sinatra) lands in San Francisco determined to make it big, he scores his biggest hits with wealthy stripper-turned-socialite Rita Hayworth (Gilda) and chorus-line-cutie Kim Novak (Vertigo). Dreaming of opening his own club, Joey sees the beautiful Hayworth as his ticket to success. But after romancing her to the point where she finances his club, the gorgeous Novak steals the spotlight, sending Sinatra on an unexpected detour. Highlighted by incomparable Rodgers and Hart show tunes (The Lady Is A Tramp, My Funny Valentine and Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered), Pal Joey is a sparkling, sophisticated comedy, a risqu? rendezvous that's fast, Frank and fancy-free.
