George Cukor's delightful romantic comedy pitches married couple and lawyers Adam (Tracy) and Amanda Bonner (Hepburn) against each other in a courtroom battle. When Doris Attinger (Judy Holliday) finds her husband Warren (Tom Ewell) in bed with another woman she shoots and wounds him. Adam Bonner is given the prosecution case, which is no problem until his wife decides to present the case for the defence. The trial becomes the setting for a hilarious battle of the sexes in the best tradition of Hollywood comedy.

A bit dated

I was keen to see this film to see the way that the lawyers were portrayed. It was a bit dated - the attitudes etc. Katherine Hepburn is portrayed as as a rather weird lawyer who is also married to a lawyer who is equally strange in the way he views his wife's professionalism.
