Jack The Ripper

synopsis

It is 1888 and in the Whitechapel area of London's East End a mysterious, sadistic maniac is terrorising the populace, brutally murdering prostitutes on what appears to be an unstoppable killing spree. Nicknamed Jack the Ripper, the killer becomes the target of a huge manhunt led by one of Scotland Yard's finest detectives, Inspector Frederick Abberline (Michael Caine). As Abberline digs deeper into the case he soon discovers that this is no ordinary murder enquiry. Benefiting from the filmmakers' access to previously unseen, top secret British Home Office files, the TV movie Jack The Ripper purports to reveal the answer to the mystery that has confounded investigators and crime enthusiasts for over 100 years...
