The Killing of America

synopsis

A hard hitting shock-u-mentary about the rise of violence in the home of the brave. From the assassinations of John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy to the violent protests against the Vietnam war. From the ritual murders of the Manson Family, to the terrifying violence of serial killers Ted Bundy, Son of Sam and John Wayne Gacy. From random sniper attacks to the mass suicide cult of Jim Jones, 'The Killing of America' shows the real violence of America. Truth is often more disturbing than fiction.

Too dated

In light of recent mass shootings in America I was looking forward to this documentary. Disappointed to discover it dates from the eighties and was really just a catalogue of shootings from the 60s and 70s without any discussion or new insights. For those not familiar with this period of American history it would be informative, but it is too dated to be relevant to the current (ridiculous and saddening) situation of gun control in America.
