Based on actual events, this involving drama stars Helen Mirren as Maria Altmann, an Austrian Jewish refugee determined to reclaim a painting the Nazis took from her family during World War II. With the help of a young attorney (Ryan Reynolds), Altmann engages in a legal battle that lasted until 2006 in order to see that artist Gustav Klimt's Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer, who was Maria's aunt, is returned to its rightful owners by the Austrian government.
