The 1974-75 Australia versus England test Series was the defining moment of the great Chappell Era of the 1970's. Under the inspiring leadership of Ian Chappell, Australia regained the 'Ashes', having surrendered cricket's ultimate prize to the old enemy four years earlier.
The 1974-75 series was ultimately memorable for the fact that it was the series that saw the beginning of the partnership of the two great Australian fast bowlers, Dennis Lillee and Jeff Thomson. 'Lillee and Thommo' unleashed a fearsome pace barrage at the English batsman, not seen since the halcyon days of Lindwall and miller in the immediate post war era.
The series was the first to be televised in colour around Australia by ABC Television. As Australia did not officially switch over to colour until March 1st 1975, television audiences around Australia witnessed this exciting series in glorious black and white! (Duration: 127 mins.)
DVD includes special presentation of the 1977 Australia v England Centenary Test Highlights.(Duration 88 mins)
