Lonely, 12-year-old Oskar is an outsider; bullied, struggling to fit in at school and left alone to fend for himself at home while his mother works nights. One evening he meets the mysterious Eli, a pale young girl, who has moved in next door. Coinciding with her arrival is a series of inexplicable disappearances and murders.
As the two being to form a special bond, Oskar comes closer to Eli's dark secret and the connections to the gruesome events occurring across town. As he faces his tormentors, he must also face Eli's own plight. She must leave to continue living, or stay and die.
Let The Right One In weaves disturbingly atmospheric, yet poetic fairy tale of adolescence and friendship.

An emotionally involving love story that just happens to include horrific acts. And a vampire. I shy away from the scare factor of horror but this ain't your typical terrifying fare. It's beautiful. Restrained in tone, each shot and sound is relevant. By weaving love and tenderness into an essentially desperate and lonely story, the glimmers of hope are heightened and murder the heart. No 'let's make 'em cry' manipulation or bullshit twists 'n turns here.
