Love Lust & Lies is the fifth documentary in a series Gillian Armstrong has been making about the lives, hopes and dreams of three lively, working class Adelaide girls since they were fourteen in 1976.
Over more than thirty years, Kerry, Josie and Diana’s struggles have captured all our hearts. Now at 47, the women’s stories explore universal truths about families, love, loss, hopes and dreams. Love Lust & Lies is compelling drama - moving, funny and honest. Love Lust & Lies captures the highs and lows that have occurred in all the women’s lives over the past fourteen years.
The film explores the complexity, drama, joy and anguish that exist in all families. It exposes the emotional impact of family secrets and ‘skeletons in the closet’. Love Lust & Lies asks universal questions about life and the opportunities offered by circumstance; and shows how the ‘ordinary’ is quite often extraordinary.

GA has made a sensitive, respectful, fascinating doco about 3 ordinary girls and the developments in their lives - beyond expectations, even for Gillian Armstrong. If I didn't already know of her work, I would see everything she's made, because of how well-made this is.
