Lorna is a young Albanian woman living illegally Belgium who longs to open a snack bar with her boyfriend. But in order to gain her Belgian citizenship, she becomes an accomplice in a diabolical plan devised by a mobster, Fabio. Lorna must marry a heroin addict, Claudy, to get her Belgian passport, before marrying a Russian mafioso who's ready to pay hard cash to also get his hands on those vital Belgian identity papers. But when Fabio's greed turns deadly, should Lorna remain silent?
From one of the few teams to have been twice awarded the film world's highest accolade, Cannes' Palme d'Or, Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne's Lorna's Silence is simultaneously a gripping thriller and a moral conundrum of the finest order.
