Patricia and Emile meet nightly on a sound stage to discuss learning, discourse and the path to revolution. Scenes of Paris' 1968 student riots, the Vietnam War, and other big events of the late '60s, posters, books, photographs and cartoons, serve as a backdrop to their discourse. Words themselves are often their subject, as are images, sounds, and juxtapositions, and Godard himself shifts towards a new type of filmmaking.
