Robert, in a last effort to keep his wife Lisa from leaving him, flies from Paris to Casablanca for a job interview. The plane crashes en route and all on board are reported dead. A few nights later, a ragged, battered Robert arrives home. His was literally a miracle escape.
Now, he says, he can play dead and Lisa can collect the heavy flight insurance he took out in her name. After three months, the insurance claim is paid. Lisa, completely distraught, gives him the money and says goodbye. Robert says that if she doesn’t go with him, he’ll turn her in since the papers were signed by her, Lisa drives toward Belgium where they are to catch a plane. Five miles from the frontier, she stops the car.
