My Dinner with Andre (1981) |

Wallace Shawn (Radio Days/Toy Story) and Andre Gregory co-wrote, and star in this piece of archetypal art-house cinema from Louis Malle. Upon release in 1981, the film created quite a stir — there was nothing like it then and there still isn't.
Two friends, Shawn and Gregory, meet for a meal in a New York restaurant. They cover a host of subject areas, both about their own lives, and those of others. Seamlessly written, it's a fascinating journey taken while sitting at the table with two fine actors. Malle's camera moves gently between the diners as observer, barely noticeable. A most entertaining feature film.
Fully restored and remastered.
