One of the best modern Westerns made; Eastwood's Unforgiven picked up four Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director, in this sombre tale of a hired-gun who reluctantly takes on one more job. Eastwood gives a startling performance as the ageing Munny whose views about violence are constantly conflicting with his need to get the job done. A very insightful and poignant tale that effectively ended the Eastwood myth that was built around him in his Spaghetti Western days.
