Stranded: The Andes Plane Crash Survivors

synopsis

For the first time ever, survivors of the famous Andes plane crash tell in their own words their harrowing story of survival. In 1972, a student rugby team boarded a small plane in Montevideo to fly to Chile, but a storm brought their plane down in the high Andes, leaving the survivors stranded on a remote glacier. Ill-equipped, with no food and little hope of rescue, the group of young men made the agonising decision to eat the flesh of their dead friends. 30 years later, the survivors revisit the crash site and relive the extreme emotions of their ordeal. Amid their accounts of heroic resolve are uniquely touching ruminations on death and loss. The feature-length documentary STRANDED is one of the most powerful, poetic stories of human perseverance you will ever see.
