The Crossing

synopsis

Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer star in this acclaimed tale of young love set during a single Anzac day in a small rural Australian town in the 1960s. Eighteen months ago, Sam (Robert Mammone) left suddenly for the big city, leaving his girl Meg (Spencer) broken hearted. In his absence, a friend of the couple, Johnny (Crowe), has dared to step across the line - and his friendship with Meg has blossomed into romance. But now Sam has come back, motivated by his love for the girl he couldn't get out of his mind - and to complicate matters, Johnny has asked Meg to marry him. That evening Meg is forced to choose not only between the two men, but also the type of life she wants. The crossing is the story of coping with a love that divides as well as unites.
