A radiation leak wipes out the crew of the mining ship Red Dwarf leaving only one survivor - Chicken Soup Machine Repair Man, Dave Lister. After 3 million years in suspended animation, Lister emerges to find he is the last human being in the universe. But he is not alone!
So the scene was set for "The End", the original pilot episode of the cult series, Red Dwarf. First broadcast in 1988, the series has since developed a massive worldwide cult following and it still holds the record for being BBC2's longest running, highest rated sitcom.
Red Dwarf was created by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor and their collaboration with BBC Worldwide has resulted in a first-class version on DVD. The two-disc set features all six 'un-remastered' episodes from the first series as well as over 90 minutes of bonus material including deleted scenes, smeg-ups, trailers and a unique commentary by the original cast members who were reunited especially for this purpose.
