A tough, critical view of Italy from a director born into a fine film making pedigree, the Comencini family. A Casa Nostra uses a series of overlapping narratives to present an entirely different view of Italy than the one that features in the majority of Italian cinema seen internationally over the past two decades. The cast is first rate, Valeria Golino, Luca Zingaretti jointly lead a strong ensemble, but in many ways, it's the grim, dark deep blue hues if modern day Milan that star in a film about money. Those with, and the suspect ways in which money changes hands. Comencini's background in politically charged drama helps distil Our Country into a compelling feature, full of urgency.
