During Korea's Chosun dynasty, two wandering minstrels-acrobatic Jang-sang and drag actor Gong-gil-find they have a smash hit on their hands with their raucous mockery of their hen-pecked king. But when the palace hears of their satire, they are sentenced to execution-unless they can make the king laugh. And laugh he does-but palace intrigue, the King's jealous concubine and his obsessive fascination with Gong-gil threaten to bring them all down.
