In the past years Peter has spent his time exclusively with computers and the cracking of secret entrance data. During this period he has lost touch with reality and has not realized his girlfriend's growing addiction to pills. One morning he finds her dead in the bath tub. Paralysed by the shock, he leaves Berlin in trance. The coincidence carries him to Cologne. Living secretly in the apartments of strangers, he starts leading a shadowy existence. As a secret intruder he feels protected against the memories and faces that haunt him. Slowly he regains his way to real communication and sincere mourning.
