Where the Truth Lies (2005) |

Now into this pantheon of legendary partnerships, Atom Egoyan, the acclaimed Director of Exotica and The Sweet Hereafter introduces us to Lanny Morris and Vince Collins.
No debonair double act sparkled more than Lanny (Kevin Bacon) the manic comedian, and Vince (Colin Firth), his urbane straight man. Together they tore up the 50's with style, charisma and chutzpah. They were just as notorious for their womanizing as they were for their risque gags and routines.
And then one woman managed to shatter their friendship and break their act forever - her name was Maureen. Here body was found in their hotel suite - naked and in the bath.
The story of how Maureen got there reveals the dark side of this comedy duo and the flip side of fame and fortune, where lust, greed, duplicity and murder hide just beyond the spotlight.
From the inventive mind of author Rupert Holmes, Where The Truth Lies weaves a serpentine noir tale that gives Bacon and Firth the finest acting role of their lives.

Don't know why any fuss is made about this mess.
We got about 30 minutes and had had enough.
Colin Firth was totally out of his depth and we can only imaging he took on the part because of some sort of contractual obligation.
We're giving it a 1 only because we found the off button.
