A darkly humorous portrayal of urban legends and one man’s plunge into mania. Charlie (Dan Futterman) is a tormented young gay man who has recently split from his long-time companion. Unable to reconcile himself to his loss, Charlie decides to live on the edge. One night, as he aimlessly wanders the streets of downtown Manhattan, he locks gaze with a mysterious stranger. This chance encounter marks the beginning of a nightmarish quest as he haunts the city nightly in an increasingly desperate attempt to find this man. In the course of his journey, Charlie meets a host of bizarre characters, each of whom recounts an urban myth. For Charlie the borders of reality which once gave his life order, have now shifted. A provocative, sexually charged noir that probes the powerful and transcendent nature of love.

This movie should appeal to all gays and people interested in gay rights, as it deals with one gay man's journey into hell, with the reason behind the journey revealed at the end of the movie. Probably most people will guess what's going on as the story unfolds and I must say the ending is very moving. The movie is very slow to start and very confusing at the beginning, however , if you stick with it, you will have an interesting time, as the plot unfolds itself. A must for all those who like good drama and excellent performances.
