Without a job he returns to Elizabethtown in Kentucky to attend his father's funeral. En-route he meets Claire (Kirsten Dunst), a friendly upbeat flight attendant, with whom he makes a special connection. As he learns more about his father's life in Elizabethtown, Drew finds that he had more in common with him as he thought and he is not quite at rock bottom. His priorities change and he begins to see new possibilities where he hadn't earlier.
