A Place of One's Own

synopsis

Mr and Mrs Smedhurst are a middle-aged business couple who buy an old cheap house for their retirement. After they move in they are told the house is supposedly haunted but are sceptical of the rumour. They invite a young companion, Annette, to stay, and gradually she begins to hear strange voices and becomes ill. They then learn that a young girl was supposed to have been murdered 40 years previously in the house and as Annette nears death’s door it would seem nothing can save her.
