One-time American football superstar Paul 'Wrecking' Crewe (Adam Sandler) goes off the rails and ends up in jail on a drink drive conviction. The prison warden assigns him the task of putting together a motley crew of inmates to take on the prison guards for a showcase football game. Paul enlists the help of Caretaker (Chris Rock) and former college champion footballer and coach Nate Scarborough (Burt Reynolds) to get a team together for the big day. When the inmates realise it is their chance to get even with the bullying guards it is not long before Paul and his coaches have recruited the biggest and meanest men in the prison system to play. A remake of the original 1974 Robert Aldrich movie The Longest Yard.
