Peaches

synopsis

Peaches is a warm, passionate and often funny portrayal of three intertwined love stories spanning two decades. Set in two time frames in the river town of Swanreach, Peaches tells the story of Stephanie (Emma Lung). Having survived the freak accident that killed her parents, Steph has been raised by her caring but life worn guardian, Jude (Jacqueline McKenzie). But on her birthday her life is changed in two important ways: she starts work under the watchful eyes of Alan (Hugo Weaving) on the peach sorting line in the local cannery: and she is given her late mother's diary. This is the story of a young woman’s search for love, a search to uncover the mysteries of the past and their role in determining her future. As the community around her faces the realities of economic change, Steph learns that fear and loss can limit your life - but only if you let them.
